The Karioi Lodge is ideally suited to accommodate any group seeking a special venue that offers stunning mountain, ocean and native bush views, a fun relaxed atmosphere, adventure possibilities, catering options, meeting and reception areas and fully equipped budget and luxury accommodation. Club, corporate and family gatherings, teambuilding sessions and school groups are catered for at this amazing location.
Unfortunately we are not currently available for wedding ceremonies or receptions at Karioi Lodge.
We now have the Wahine Moe cameraman which is licensed for 70 passengers operating in the beautiful, tranquil Raglan harbour – the Wahine Moe can also sleep up to 10 people and is another exciting venue to check out. Please enquire for more info or visit Raglan Boat Charters.
Kitchens and catering: The Karioi Lodge amenities include two fully equipped kitchens – one of which is purpose built for large groups. There is also the option for onsite catering. We can recommend fabulous local Raglan caterers on request.
Karioi Lodge: The Karioi Lodge sleeps up to 75 people in the main lodge plus those that the campervan sites accommodate. At the lodge there are four separate blocks of accommodation each with five rooms. Three blocks are set up dorm style with four bunks per room. The other five rooms are double/private rooms. Groups can be placed in separate blocks or blocks close together to suit. All bedding linen and pillows are supplied. Towels can be supplied on request.
Luxury Lodges: We have two luxury lodges in Whale Bay, only minutes away from Karioi Lodge. These lodges are self-contained – with spas, SKY TV, DVD library, BBQ and fully equipped kitchen with condiments. Lodge facilities and activities: Groups can enjoy a large adventure playground at the Karioi Lodge with mountain bike hire, bush walks, spectacular look outs, perma-culture gardens, glow worms and sauna. Plus it’s just a short walk to Raglan’s famous surf breaks. Broadband Internet and wireless connection, SKY TV with all the channels including sports and movies, 42″ plasma screen TV, DVD and video library, pool table, dart board and table tennis are available for guests to use. Poker nights, yoga and on-site beauty and massage therapy can be arranged.
Conference venue: Over the years the Karioi Lodge has hosted many corporate meetings and conferences. There are several options in terms of meeting venues. One of the most unique and popular is in the rustic barn which is private and tranquil and set amongst the native bush just up from the main lodge. The main hall at the lodge can also work well for groups. For smaller groups we usually set up one of the luxury lodges as a meeting area for privacy and stunning views. Whatever is needed we will work with you to meet your equipment, entertainment and catering requirements.
Tramping, surfing and teambuilding: With direct access to Mount Karioi tramps and as the home of the Raglan Surf School the Karioi Lodge often host groups that are wanting a fun day or weekend learning to surf or tramping the mountain. For the surfing lessons we provide all instruction, equipment and whatever else is needed such as volleyball and lunch at the beach. Surf equipment hire is available for groups who don’t need a lesson and supervision. Transport is available for pick-ups and drop offs to other local tracks. Enjoy the evening sauna back at base after a day of adventuring!
Raglan activities: There are lots of exciting things to do in Raglan for groups and if you’re a guest of Karioi Lodge we can help to arrange an itinerary for you free of charge. Try your hand at sunset kayaking, harbour cruising to see the limestone formations, horse trekking to Bridal Veil Falls or along a remote West Coast beach. For the group that needs pampering rather than adrenalin, there’s on-site massage and beauty therapy.
